Strength Training for Over 50s -
Personal Trainer Basingstoke
Strength training in your 50s carries a bit more responsibility than it did at 30 - recovery takes longer, your joints need a little more respect, and for a lot of women, hormonal changes around menopause directly affect how your body holds onto muscle and bone.
This is not the time to back off - if anything, it's the opposite. Your 50s are exactly when resistance training earns its keep. Imagine a day with more energy, more focus, and the capacity to just get on with it. For women particularly, that includes maintaining bone density, which becomes harder to protect the longer it's left unaddressed.
Like every stage, training here runs in 8-week blocks - each one building on what came before, so progress is tracked, not guessed at.
We train smarter about how we load, how we recover, and how we progress.
You don't need to already know how to lift. You need to pay attention to what your body's telling you, week to week.
