Beginners Fitness for 60s+ -
Personal Trainer Basingstoke

At 60 and beyond, the honest goal of training changes a little - it's less about how you look and more about staying capable and resilient.

And no - it's absolutely not too late to start. In fact, the biggest successes and most profound changes I've witnessed come from my clients in their 60s to 80s.

Confidence is key when exercising, but also just getting about day to day. Being able to get up off the floor, carry your shopping, catch yourself if you trip - these are crucial.

That last one matters more than people think. Falls become a real risk in this decade, and balance work - proper, structured balance training, not just standing on one leg - has been shown to meaningfully cut that risk.

So alongside building strength (which, in all honesty, is simply the opposite of weakness), we build balance and stability deliberately, not as an afterthought.

Starting fresh at 60+ isn't unusual. Most of my clients in this bracket haven't set foot in a gym in decades, if ever. We go at your pace, from wherever you're actually starting.
