EXCUSELESS: What It Really Means (And Why It Changes Everything)

EXCUSELESS: What It Really Means (And Why It Changes Everything)

She'd tried everything. Physio. Osteopathy. Massage. Years of chronic lower back pain and nothing had stuck.

In our first session I worked her through a simple mobility drill. This had her sat down -- hips above knees -- and rotate her torso as far as she comfortably could. Side flex left, then right. Three reps. Rotate a little further. Repeat.

Two minutes. Her range of motion increased and pain all but gone.

Now here's the real world result -- the pain came back after a few days. But now we had a window -- a pain-free period to introduce strength work and isometrics. Over time the window grew and pain lessened to manageable levels, and no more medication.

Importantly, she stopped seeing her back as a restriction, and viewed it as something she could work with.

A shift -- from no control to control -- is what the Excuseless Mindset is built on.

What Excuseless is not:

Excuseless has nothing to do with pushing through pain or ignoring your body.

What Excuseless is:

Instead we find a version of the solution that removes the reason not to try and reveal a workaround. Every excuse has an Excuseless answer.

The three principles:

1. Find what works right now -- not what should work, not what worked before. What works today.

2. Build from there -- one rep more, five degrees further, a slightly longer window.

3. Control is the goal -- not perfection, not pain-free. The goal is to feel like your body is something you can influence.

Try this today: Think of one thing you've written off. Ask: what's the Excuseless version of it? Message me on WhatsApp and tell me what you come up with.
